“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” – Oprah Winfrey

Hope Solutions’ tutors provide academic support and mentoring to poverty-impacted and some formerly homeless students, most of whom seldom experience positive connections with adults committed to their academic excellence.  Close, healthy, supportive relationships between youth and mentors are central to youth success.  Youth who have relationships with at least one adult for one year or more are more likely to have higher self esteem, demonstrate improved behavior and attitude about school, and make healthier relationship and lifestyle choices.  Hope Solutions homework volunteers commit to one afternoon per week for the school year and training is provided.  If you’d like to experience this fantastic opportunity to make a tangible change in a child’s life, please contact gloria@hopesolutions.org.
