Local Teens Helps Welcome a Homeless Family Home

Project team

Most families that move into Hope Solutions’s Garden Park Apartments in Pleasant Hill are fresh off the streets with little to no belongings, making it hard to transform their new residence into a welcoming home of their own.  Thanks to Mac Graves, a local teen inspired to make a difference in his community and his Northgate high school peers and Boy Scout troop, Hope Solutions welcomed a new family home to a fully furnished apartment.  Mac and his friends organized an entire apartment for our new resident at Garden Park Apartments.  He took the list of the furniture and furnishings that are needed for new residents to start their life toward stabilization, and found everything on the list! The motivated group of teens partnered with the local community to receive and pick up donations, cleaned everything, painted some of the pieces, and even delivered and staged all the donations to create a picture-perfect home for the new Hope Solutions family. Hope Solutions is extremely grateful for all the hard work and effort that went into providing our newest resident family with a place to call home – permanently. This incredible group of young people have truly made a difference in our community and changed lives.  Thank you!
