On Saturday, March 22, 2025, 300 guests gathered to celebrate Hope Solutions’ 17th annual Ruby Slippers Gala. Together, we raised nearly $500,000 – a new Ruby record – with proceeds going to heal the effects of homelessness and poverty by providing permanent housing solutions and vital support services. We are grateful to those who came out to support our mission.

"Each year during our Ruby Gala, I have the privilege to look out at the sea of support, and I continue to be humbled by your faith and dedication to our work. This year was no exception - it was an evening filled with hope, inspiration, and a deep sense of gratitude for the collective efforts that have brought us - as William Goodwin so beautifully said - closer to our dream of a world without homelessness."

We were honored to hear from Brendi, whose remarkable story embodies our mission. Brendi’s journey from homelessness to becoming a leader in our community and a UC Berkeley Student is a testament to the power of hope and healing.

We also celebrated the tireless efforts of our Community Hero Award recipients, Walnut Creek Mayor Cindy Darling and Councilmember Cindy Silva. Their leadership has been instrumental in advancing affordable housing solutions, including the development of Hope Village Walnut Creek. Their dedication to our community is a beacon of hope, inspiring us all to work together towards a brighter future and we are grateful for their partnership and courage.

This event would not have been possible without the support of our staff, Board of Directors, and the generosity of our donors and volunteers. I especially want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our amazing sponsors, supporters, and volunteers. Special thanks to our Ruby Slippers Committee: Chair, Elaine Davis, Tracy Gordon, Anne Kuelz, Nazzi Nazeri, and Jane Settle.
