Jetzamany is a determined student. She started coming to homework club at Lakeside beginning in first grade. She became the beacon of hope for her family as the first generation college aspirant. During the COVID pandemic, Jetzamany took advantage of zoom tutoring with our volunteers. One of our volunteer Nancy Luna, helped her with her college applications Jetzamany overcame social barriers , embracing education as her ticket to brighter future.
She also volunteered at our homework club during her high school time and during the summer camps last year. Morgan Perkins, Hope Solutions Education & Employment Specialist, encouraged and supported Jetzamany to apply for a college scholarship as well. Jetzamany applied and was accepted to UC Irvine and is thriving there. Her family is so proud of her to embracing her new college life.
