Hope Solutions Board Member named Koshland Civic Unity Awards Fellow

Hope Solutions is proud to celebrate Board Member and Resident Empowerment Program (REP) team member William Goodwin for being named one of the 2025 Daniel E. Koshland Civic Unity Awards Fellows. Each year, The San Francisco Foundation’s Koshland Program recognizes up to 12 neighborhood leaders in a specific Bay Area community, making a five-year, $300,000 investment to strengthen that neighborhood. This year’s cohort includes inspiring leaders from Pittsburg and Antioch who are working to build a more united and resilient East Contra Costa community.

Since its founding in 1982, the Koshland Program has supported more than 500 local leaders in over 35 neighborhoods across the Bay Area. The program was established to identify and empower “unsung heroes and sheroes” who are taking bold action to improve their communities. Through leadership training, collaboration, and collective visioning, Koshland Fellows develop and launch projects that continue to support their neighborhoods long after the fellowship concludes.

William’s selection as a 2025 Koshland Fellow honors his leadership, service, and deep commitment to equity and community empowerment. As a Hope Solutions board member and REP team representative, William exemplifies the spirit of civic unity the Koshland Program seeks to uplift—bringing people together to create lasting change.
