A letter from our CEO and Board Chair

Dear Friends,

Every day, we see what becomes possible when a community chooses to lead with compassion, persistence, and hope. This year, Hope Solutions helped more than 4,200 people take meaningful steps away from homelessness and toward the stability, dignity, and belonging that everyone deserves.

Together, we made important progress on our commitment to expand permanent housing. From Pomona House, Hope Homes, and Civic Center Apartments in West County to Hope Studios in Central County, and Village of Hope - Pittsburg, new housing opportunities are creating pathways home for individuals and families across Contra Costa County.

And because a home is more than a set of keys, our staff provided over 30,000 hours of case management and client-centered support to help people build lasting stability. Across all programs, nearly 80% of clients who exited did so into permanent housing, a reflection of their determination and the steadfast care of our team.

We also strengthened the partnerships and systems that make this work possible. As a thought leader in program design that creates meaningful impact, we maintained and expanded contracts with Contra Costa County Health, Housing, and Homelessness, Behavioral Health, and Children and Family Services. We also secured new funding from the California Department of Health Care Services through CalAIM, which will allow us to deepen support for clients with complex needs who might be especially vulnerable.

We amplified our voice in the broader movement to end homelessness by creating a Board Policy Committee and policy platform, welcoming a new Vice President of Strategy and Development, and participating in statewide and national conversations about housing solutions. We were especially proud when the National Alliance to End Homelessness invited our Director of Housing Navigation and Rapid Re-housing to lead an educational session.

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a team that refuses to give up. We are grateful for Hope Solutions staff, 95% of whom report satisfaction in their work. More than 47% of our direct-service staff have experienced homelessness, bringing deep empathy, wisdom, and credibility to the people we serve. We are also thrilled to welcome two new board members—Marlene Matsuoka and Woody Karp—and grateful to Stephanie for stepping into the role of Board Chair.

Thank you for believing in a future where we can end homelessness.

Your partnership helps turn that future into reality, one neighbor, one home, and one hopeful new beginning at a time.

Housing + services

A safe place to call home creates the stability people need to heal and move forward. Through permanent supportive housing, interim housing, and individualized support services, Hope Solutions meets people wherever they are on their journey out of homelessness, providing a safe place to begin again and the compassionate guidance needed to move forward. By pairing housing with case management, connections to health care, education, and employment, and other essential resources, we help individuals and families build lasting stability, reclaiming the dignity, security, and sense of belonging that every person deserves.

Keeping people housed

Homelessness is easier to prevent than to solve. Through rapid re-housing, re-entry support, eviction prevention, and individualized case management, Hope Solutions meets families and individuals at the moment of crisis, before a missed paycheck, unexpected illness, or return from incarceration becomes a loss of housing. We help people access financial assistance, navigate landlord communication, connect to employment and benefits, and build the support systems needed to remain rooted in their communities. Keeping someone housed will always cost less, in dollars and in dignity, than helping them recover after losing everything.

Spotlight on Youth Support

Youth deserve safe, supportive spaces where they can grow, heal, and work towards their dreams and goals. Through youth enrichment activities, housing, and tailored support for transition-age youth, Hope Solutions helps youth navigate critical transitions with stability and encouragement. Youth experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or the transition from foster care are especially vulnerable to isolation, exploitation, disrupted education, and economic insecurity. By connecting them with caring adults, case management, education and employment resources, life-skills development, and community, Hope Solutions helps young people build the foundation to thrive independently.

Housing development

Hope Solutions is expanding its impact across Contra Costa County by providing supportive services at new affordable housing communities, including converted buildings, cottage communities, and homes for young adults. Through on-site case management, trauma-informed property management, health care connections, employment and education support, and life-skills coaching, these homes offer not only shelter, but pathways from crisis to lasting stability, dignity, and community.
