Community Meeting
June 10 | 7:00pm
Pittsburg Church of the Nazarene
5305 Kirker Pass Rd, Pittsburg
Our Approach
Village of Hope Pittsburg is a partnership between Pittsburg Church of the Nazarene and Hope Solutions that will bring 15 thoughtfully designed cottages to the community, creating safe, stable, and supportive housing for young adults ages 18–25 experiencing chronic homelessness.
Planned to break ground in 2026, this innovative, community-centered model combines dignified housing with comprehensive on-site supportive services — including professional case management, education and employment support, life-skills development, and pathways toward long-term stability and independence. Residents will be supported by experienced service providers focused on helping young adults build stability, connection, and opportunity for the future.
About Village of Hope Pittsburg
Village of Hope Pittsburg, opening in fall 2026, will be a cottage community developed by Hope Solutions in partnership with the Church of the Nazarene. Designed for Transitional Aged Youth (ages 18–25), the community will provide 15 affordable homes with on-site support services to help young adults experiencing homelessness build stability and independence. With thoughtfully designed amenities, innovative construction, and strong community partnerships, Village of Hope Pittsburg expands access to safe, supportive housing in Contra Costa County.
Why This Location
Village of Hope Pittsburg will be situated on leased land provided by the Church of the Nazarene. This site was selected for its proximity to public transportation, employment opportunities, and essential services, ensuring residents can easily access the resources they need to build stability and independence. The church’s partnership also strengthens community integration and creates opportunities for volunteer engagement and local support.
Who Will Live Here
Residents will be Transitional Aged Youth (TAY), ages 18–25, who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Referrals will be made through the Contra Costa County Coordinated Entry System, which prioritizes individuals with the greatest need. Hope Solutions uses a structured screening process that considers each individual’s needs, strengths, and readiness for housing to ensure appropriate placement and support. Residents will be connected to services that help them maintain stability. Depending on resident needs, services include: case management, mental health support, employment and education assistance.
Property Management and Safety
Hope Solutions will provide full property management and ongoing support for the community. Residents will sign standard California leases and pay at least 30% of their income toward rent. A Property Manager will oversee daily operations, maintenance, rent collection and resident support. Support services staff will be available to respond to resident needs and provide consistent engagement. The community will operate with clear expectations, structure, and accountability to maintain a safe, stable, and respectful living environment.
Support Services
Residents will have access to on-site supportive services designed to promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Services include case management, mental health support, and employment and education assistance. These services are delivered by an experienced Hope Solutions team and tailored to meet the needs of young adults transitioning to independence.
At Hope Solutions, we believe housing is a basic human need. When people have a safe, stable place to live, they are better able to care for themselves, support their families, and contribute to the community.
Contra Costa County is currently facing a shortage of more than 31,000 housing units. Rising costs and evictions continue to push more individuals and families into homelessness. This project is one step toward addressing that gap in a thoughtful, community-centered way.
Proven Success
This property builds on our success of our recent project – Hope Village Walnut Creek, a community of six formerly homeless seniors who are thriving in their new community, wrapped with support from Hope Solutions’ service team and the congregation. Please hear from Paula about the incredible impact your support has made in her life.
Hope Village Walnut Creek is the first-of-its-kind affordable cottage community in Contra Costa County. The project is a proof point for innovation in housing design, partnerships, and funding.
