On February 8th, over 325 guests gathered at the Blackhawk Auto Museum to celebrate our 12th annual gala, Ruby Slippers – There’s No Place Like Home. Together, we raised a record-setting $388,000 to support Hope Solutions’ mission to heal the effects of homelessness and poverty by providing permanent housing solutions and vital support services.

Guests were treated to a fabulous dinner, exciting auction items, and fantastic music by the David Martin’s House Party.
The night was co-hosted by Board Chair Carol Gilliland and our Resident Empowerment Program (REP) Leader, William Goodwin. Rabbi Jill Perlman of Temple Isaiah opened the program with a beautiful blessing. The star of the evening was Teri, our resident speaker, who told a harrowing tale of escaping abuse, depression and addiction to reunite her family and build a path toward hope and success. Teri was supported by her husband and daughter, who is a senior attending a private high school on scholarship with a 4.3 grade point average.
At the event, we officially launched our new name- Hope Solutions: the Heart of Housing and Services. As described beautifully in the video on our new website www.hopesolutions.org, our new name, Hope Solutions, reflects the essence of how we support our residents and how we plan to grow our impact in the future. For six months, the re-branding team had rich conversations about the organization’s values, identity and future goals. Hundreds of possible names were considered and this name reflected the hope that we all hold for their clients until they can hold it for themselves. At Hope Solutions, we continually invite our clients to dare to hope while offering concrete solutions and support to heal and thrive.
This new name carries the organization into the future and reinforces its position as a heart-centered organization focused on providing quality housing, ongoing support, and the courage to hope.
We are so grateful to the Ruby Slippers committee and Board of Directors for their creative leadership, and to everyone who made the night such a success. We welcome you to share this very special message of gratitude.
Yours in Hope,
Deanne Pearn, Executive Director
Hope Solutions (formerly Contra Costa Interfaith Housing)
